Eric Lewis McKinney is accused of selling diabetes medication to a 12-year-old girl and told her it was Ecstasy.
After the girl became ill, she told her mother she had taken Ecstasy pills and he mother quickly took her to San Joaquin County General Hospital for treatment.
After her mother called the police, the girl told them she bought eight pills from McKinney.
An investigation determined that the pills were Glimepiride, a prescription medication that is used for diabetes.
McKinney was arrested yesterday for distribution of a controlled substance and falsely representing a controlled substance.
