13-year-old Casey Kearney dies after being stabbed in Elmfield Park, Doncaster

A 13-year-old British who was stabbed in broad daylight in a park has died from her injuries.

Casey Kearney was in Elmfield Park, Doncaster, around 1:20 p.m. Tuesday when she was approached by a woman who stabbed her.

The teenager was able to call 999 (US 911) with her cell phone.

She was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary, where she died last night.

Shortly after the teenager’s death, police arrested a 26-year-old woman.

Police are trying to determine exactly where the teenager was stabbed.  They are not sure whether she was stabbed where she was found or if she staggered there before she collapsed.

Locals describe the park as being “unsafe” for children walking to and from school.
