A sixteen-year-old Connecticut boy was killed Wednesday afternoon after he lost control of his GMC Sierra on Route 8 near Exit 46.

Authorities say Jerry Dale Cox III was not feeling well when he left Oliver Wolcott Technical High School around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

It is believed the teenager was on his way home when he lost control of his vehicle near the Greenwoods Road overpass.

Firefighters used the jaws-of-life to remove the teenager from his vehicle.  He was later transported to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Grief counselors will be at the Torrington high school, where the Winsted teen was junior, on Thursday.
