A Connecticut woman, who suffers from a bi-polar disorder, is accused of physically and verbally assaulting her 10-month old daughter and videotaping the incidents which she eventually sent to the child’s father.
Kellie Park, of 190 Campbell Avenue in West Haven, was charged with risk of injury to a minor, third-degree assault, cruelty to persons and second-degree threatening.
Authorities said in one of the videos that 20-year-old Park sent to her daughter’s father, Erick Vece, the suspect is overheard telling the toddler “Eat stuff off the floor, this is what your dad wants to make me do.” And in another, the baby girl was seated in a high chair and Parks is overheard asking her if she was hungry just before throwing food at her.
Authorities said Park also videotaped herself shaking her daughter in a portable crib so hard that the child fell out of the crib.
Although the incident occurred earlier this month, Park was only arrested on June 20 after Vece contacted the police.
The 10-month-old child is currently with her maternal grandmother, who is also attempting to adopt Park’s 2-year-old daughter.
