3-year-old Indiana boy accidentally shot and killed father

A 3-year-old Indiana boy accidentally shot and killed his 33-year-old father while he was watching TV.

Authorities said Michael A. Bayless was on a couch watching TV inside his Martinsville home around 9:55 p.m. Friday, when his young son found a loaded .45-caliber handgun and accidentally fired it.

It’s unclear where the toddler found the weapon, but reports say Bayless, of Salem, his wife and their three young children, along with a young cousin were at the home at the time of the accident.

It is believed Bayless and his family were remodeling their vacation home at the time of the accident.
