A 6-year-old Connecticut boy died earlier today following an accident with a wood chipper that his father was working with.
Police in Salem said the accident happened around 8:45 a.m. at 24 Brookside Drive.
Jeffrey Bourgeois and his two older siblings were helping their father, Scott, owner of C & S Tree Removal LLC, clear some land when the accident happened.
It is believed that the senior Bourgeois had turned his back to gather some bushes when the Jeffrey put a branch into the wood chipper and got sucked in.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackWhy would a six-year old child help with wood chipper? It’s too dangerous especially for small children.
My deepest sympathy to the family, this is such a tradegy. I just can’t imagine how they feel and what they have went thru and are going to thru for the rest of their lives.R.I.P. little one God Bless
To the writer of this column you could of come up with a much better title like ” Child dies in wood chipper accident”. Don’t you have a heart ?
I agree with the previous comment. A very harsh title to this terrible tradedy. I wish the entire family the very best in coping with this untimely death. Its very difficult to even imagine what they are going through. I am sure your in everyones prayers.
What a wonderful loving father, spending quality time with his children teaching them how important working hard is. There are children that have no father teaching them, loving them or supporting them. My thoughts are with the entire family but my heart bleeds for the dad. It wasn’t his fault, he was being a good dad. If we could only turn back time, but we can’t . May the love and support that finds this family be enough to simply help them survive each and every day to come!
