A father arranged a marriage between his 8 year-old daughter and a 47 year-old man to settle a debt

In order to settle a debt, a father arranged a marriage between his 8-year-old daughter and a 47-year-old man.

The girl’s mother asked a Saudi judge to annul the marriage, but he refused, because the mother is not the child’s legal guardian.

The judge however asked the girl’s husband not to consummate the marriage until the girl reaches puberty; in addition, he told the mother that the child could file for a divorce when she reaches puberty.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY CRIMINAL, INSTEAD OF TELLING THE MOTHER THERE IS NOTHING HE CAN DO FOR THIS CHILD, THE JUDGE SHOULD PUT OUT A WARRANT FOR THE FATHER’S ARREST.

THE 47-YEAR OLD SHOULD ALSO BE IN JAIL.
