The Associated Press is reporting that an airplane crashed yesterday off the coast of Southern California.

According to reports, a vessel reported seeing the plane hit the water and searchers found aluminum debris and an oil slick.

Coast Guard Lt. Josh Nelson said that rescue boats had yet to find any sign of survivor or bodies, but early today, a helicopter is scheduled to continue the search.

Although there are no reports of an overdue or missing commercial or military aircraft, officials believe that the plane took off from San Diego’s Montgomery Field.
