Kal Penn, who plays Dr. Lawrence Kutner on Fox’s hit TV show “House,” has quit his job to work for President Barack Obama.

On the hit TV show last night, Penn’s character committed suicide and at the ending of the show, viewers were directed to a memorial web site for Kuktner.

The White House confirmed this morning that the actor was joining Office of Public Liaison, which is run by President senior adviser Valerie Jarrett.

Penn’s job will be primarily involves dealing with the Asian American, Pacific Islander communities and the arts community.
