Karl Malden

 

 

Oscar winner Karl Malden died this morning at the age of 97, his family confirmed.

Malden won an Oscar for his role in “A Streetcar Named Desire,” but he was also known on the small screen for his role on the 1970’s TV series “The Streets of San Francisco” which co-starred Michael Douglas.

The actor made his screen debut in the 1940 movie “they Knew What They Wanted.”

He was also known as the pitchman for a series of American Express commercials, which aired for 21 years.
