Actor Mel Gibson’s wife Robyn, filed for a divorce

Robyn Gibson, the wife of Greenwich, Connecticut, actor Mel Gibson has filed for a divorce, ending the couple’s 28 years of marriage citing “irreconcilable differences,” according to court documents.

Ms. Gibson filed for divorced on Good Friday in a California courthouse.

The Gibson have seven children, six adults and one minor, and according to legal experts, since California is a community property state, Ms. Gibson is likely to walk away with a big chunk of the actor’s estimated $900 million fortune.

In the court documents, Robyn listed the date of separation as “to be determined,” however, rumor has it that the couple split five years ago, which is right about the same time they put their Greenwich, home on the market for $39 million.

According to sources close to the couple, Mel’s drinking played a major role in Robyn filing for the divorce.
