A 25-year-old Detroit woman attending a party at an off-duty police officer’s house was fatally shot by the cop’s gun which discharged when she hugged him from behind.

Authorities said Adaisha Miller was at the outdoor party early Sunday morning when she “embraced the officer from behind, causing the holstered weapon to accidentally discharge.”  The bullet punctured Miller’s lung and hit her heart.

Miller, who would have turned 25 today, was rushed to a nearby hospital where she died.

Miller’s mother, Yolanda McNair, has her doubts as to how her daughter died. She told a local reporter on Sunday that “the story keeps changing.”

She said she was first told that her daughter died while she was dancing with the officer and they were “face-to-face” hugging.

Authorities insist that the officer, who has not been identified, was dancing with his wife when Miller came up behind him and tugged at his waist.

The veteran beat patrolman has been placed on administrative duties while the incident is still being investigated.
