Keith Olbermann was fired from Al Gore’s Current TV fired and replaced with Eliot Spitzer. The announcement was made on the network’s website today.
On the website former Vice-President Gore said his network was founded “on the values of respect, openness, collegiality, and loyalty to our viewers. Unfortunately these values are no longer reflected in our relationship with Keith Olbermann and we have ended it.”
Immediately after the statement was released Olbermann poster on his Twitter page that he was planning to sue Current.
“It goes almost without saying that the claims against me implied in Current’s statement are untrue and will be proved so in the legal actions I will be filing against them presently….The truth of the ethics of Mr. Gore and Mr. Hyatt [Current co-founder] will come out.”
Current said Olbermann will be replaced with Eliot Spitzer, the former Attorney General for New York who was forced to resign over a sex scandal.
After leaving politics, Spitzer was given a night time TV show on CNN but he was later fired him.
