“American Idol” former winner David Cook older brother Adam passed away

Season seven winner of American Idol, David Cook, announced earlier today that his older brother, who had been battling brain cancer for 11-years, died from the disease.

Adam Cook, 36, was a lawyer who was seen in the audience of the Fox TV hit show supporting his brother.

The older Cook, whose cancer had spread to his spine, leaves behind his wife and children.

The “American Idol” winner made the announcement at the 12^th Annual Race for Hope 5k run/walk in Washington D.C. today, where he raised more than $97,000 for his brother’s cause.
