****CORRECTION*****We incorrectly reported that Aretha Franklin was Whitney Houston’s godmother. Ms. Franklin was a family friend whom Whitney called “aunt”. Ms. Darlene Love was Whitney’s godmother.

Hours after Aretha Franklin released a statement saying she would not be able to attend Whitney Houston’ funeral on Saturday, the 69-year-old singer appeared on stage at Radio City Music Hall.
Aretha, who is Whitney’s godmother, said she could not make the funeral because she was suffering from “leg spasms”, however, hours later she was performing on stage.
During the second half of her show Aretha paid tribute to her goddaughter by singing “I Will Always Love You” and calling her one of the “greatest singers.”
Aretha was scheduled to perform The Greatest Love of All at Whitney’s funeral.
Not good enough Aretha, you should have gone to Whitney’s funeral. Not only were you a friend of the singer and her family, you were also her goddaughter. What’s the real reason why you stayed away?
