A fire broke out lunchtime at Google’s British headquarters after a barbecue on a rooftop patio got out of control.
The accident happened at Google’s London offices when employees were firing up a barbecue on the patio for the company’s free lunch day.
About 5,000 Google staff and employees from other firms on the sixth-floor of the south-west London building were evacuated.
A spokesperson for Google said, “There was no serious damaged to the building” and around 2:00 p.m. all employees were back at their desk working.
Free meals are one of the many perks that the internet company provides for its employees.
