Basketball Wives boyfriend Matt Barnes arrested

NBA star Matt Barnes was arrested in California last night .

According to TMZ, the Lakers forward was arrested in Manhattan Beach on outstanding traffic warrants for driving without a driver’s license and for resisting arrest.

The incident went down around 8:30 p.m. (local time) Monday while Matt was walking in Manhattan Beach.

It’s unclear why Barnes was initially stopped by officers, but they ran a check on him and discovered the athlete had $26,000 in unpaid traffic warrant for driving with a suspended license.

As one of the officers was attempting to arrest Barnes, he fought off the cop and made threats against them.

Barnes, who is currently a free agent, is being held on $51,000 bail.

The basketball player appeared on the hit VH1 show “Basketball Wives” with his estranged girlfriend and mother of his two children, Gloria Govan.
