Beyonce and Jay-Z trademark daughter’s name, Blue Ivy Carter

So Beyonce and Jay-Z have done something that no one else has ever done before or at least anyone that I am aware of.

The couple copyrighted their daughter’s name.

On January 26, Beyonce and Jay-Z filed an application under Beyonce’s company name, BGK Trademark Holdings, to trademark the name “Blue Ivy Carter”.

Not sure if the couple is planning on branching out into a baby clothing line or jewelry or maybe they are just trying to stop people from making money off their daughter’s name, but either way they are doing everything possible to protect their baby girl.

There are reports that two companies filed applications with the US Patent and Trademark Office after Beyonce publicly announced her daughter’s name; however,  those applications were denied because no two people can own the same trademark item or in this case trademark name.

All I gotta say is Beyonce and Jay-Z are two shrewd business people or they have a good management team.
