On March 16, 2008 Vik Magnussen’s partially nude body was found buried beneath some trash in the basement of an apartment building in London.

She was last seen on March 14, leaving a nightclub with Farouk Abdulhak, the son of a Yemen billionaire who was also a fellow classmate of Magnussen’s at Regent’s Business School.

London detectives said hours after Abdulhak, 22, raped and killed Magnussen, 23, he fled to his native homeland Yemen, which has no extradition agreement with the UK.

Authorities are still confident that one day he will stand trial in London on the murder charges.

“These things do take an inordinate amount of time but they never go away,” Det. Ch. Insp. Richard Ambrose said. “They will always be there.  We will eventually bring Mr. Abdulhak back to face justice.”

Yemen added Abdulhak to their most wanted list and UK authorities and Yemen officials are working on transporting the alleged murderer back to London.
