Bronx police Officer Rosandre Burgher accused of having sex with 16-year-old boy

A 26-year-old New York City police officer is accused of having sex with a teenage boy upstate.

Rosandre Burgher, an officer with the 46^th Precinct in the Bronx, was arrested in the Town of Wallkill on Tuesday and charged with criminal sexual act, unlawfully dealing with a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

Authorities said the 16-year-old victim, who was in a consensual relationship with the officer, called the Internal Affairs Bureau to report the incident.

Burgher, who has been suspended, was released from jail on $35,000 bond.

It’s not immediately known how long the two were in a sexual relationship and why the teenager decided to contact officials.
