A 26-year-old New York City police officer is accused of having sex with a teenage boy upstate.
Rosandre Burgher, an officer with the 46th Precinct in the Bronx, was arrested in the Town of Wallkill on Tuesday and charged with criminal sexual act, unlawfully dealing with a child and endangering the welfare of a child.
Authorities said the 16-year-old victim, who was in a consensual relationship with the officer, called the Internal Affairs Bureau to report the incident.
Burgher, who has been suspended, was released from jail on $35,000 bond.
It’s not immediately known how long the two were in a sexual relationship and why the teenager decided to contact officials.
