Calvino Inman cries tears blood

Dr. Barrett G. Haik, director of the University of Tennessee’s Hamilton Eye Institute says there is an answer for the reason why Calvino Inman cries blood.

“Crying blood is a condition called haemolacria,” Dr. Haik said. “It is common in people who have experienced extreme trauma or who have recently had a serious head injury.”However, he said, “in a case such as Inman’s it is still a medical mystery.”

“What is really rare is to have a child like this,” the doctor continued.  “Only once every several years do we see someone with no obvious cause.”

Inman is set to undergo multiple tests from a variety of specialists, including hematologists, ophthalmologists and otolaryngologists.

According to experts, between February 1992 and January 2003 only four cases of “crying blood” were recorded.

Doctors in Tennessee are baffled with a fifteen-year-old boy rare condition that causes his eyes to bleed.

A least three times a day, Calvino Inman cry tears of blood and doctors do not know why.

“Sometimes, I can feel it coming up, like a tear.  I feel my eyes watering, sometimes, it will burn as it comes out,” Inman told reporters.

The teenager, who is called possessed by his friends, said the tearing of blood could last a few minutes to an hour.

Calvino’s mother, Tammy Mynatt said the first time she saw her son’s eyes she called 911.

“The scariest thing in my life is when he looked at me and said, ‘Mom, am I going to die?’ That right there broke my heart,” Mynatt said.

The confused mother said  doctors did MRI’s, CAT scans and Ultra sounds, but still no one can give a diagnosis or a treatment.

She says she is desperate to find treatment for her son “somebody to say they’ve seen this and they can help us.  I don’t care where we have to travel.  I will go wherever we need to go.  I will do whatever I have to do.  I just please somebody to help my baby. That’s all.”
