A Myrtle Beach, South Carolina teenager was killed earlier today after he stabbed a school resource officer who defended himself by firing his revolver.
According to reports, an 11th grader at Carolina Forest High School asked the student resource officer if he could speak with him in his office.
It is believed that a fight erupted between the two and the 16-year-old male allegedly stabbed officer, Marcus Rhodes and Rhodes, opened fire killing the student.
The teenager died just before 11 this morning after he was taken to Conway Medical Center.
Rhodes was taken to Conway Medical Center where he is listed in good condition.
This is the second time in three years that a student at Carolina Forest High School has been killed in a violent incident on school campus.
In June 2006, Natalia Holmes, 18, was stabbed 15 times by her estranged boyfriend, Edwin Cornelius in the school’s parking lot.
Tonight’s football game against South Florence High School has been postponed.
