Wendy Peatree told reporters that Monday’s incident was preventable because she had asked authorities for help with her son, who had been hearing voices in his head for sometime; however, she did not say why authorities refused to help her.

Peatree said her son had a history of setting fires to homes and killing animals.

“We’ve tried to get our son help,” Peatree said.  “He’s set fire to our neighbor’s trailer a few months ago…. [And] he also has been cruel to animals and killed them.”

She said last Christmas night her son took his bike and rod on Highway 460 for four miles.

The children’s father, Cecil Yates, said it took six minutes after his son set fire to their trailer for it to burn to the ground.

When questioned by police on Monday the youngster told officers that “voices in my head told me to do it.”

Two-year-old Shea Shea Yates was pronounced dead at the scene on Monday.  Her older brother is currently being assessed by Tuckers Mental Institution.

The teenager was playing at the Erskine Johnson Arena in Carp when he collapsed around 6:20 p.m. Sunday.

CPR was immediately performed at the scene before he was rushed by paramedics to Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, where he later died.

It is believed that teenager, who has not been identified, died of a cardiac arrest.

The 18-year old man, who fell from a cliff in Sleeping Giant over the weekend, has succumbed to his injuries and died at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Tobias Engel, the son of Quinnipiac Professor Len Engel, fell from the chin area while hiking with relatives on Sunday.

An 18-year-old Connecticut man is struggling to stay alive after falling 200feet off a cliff over the weekend.

The man and his family were hiking in Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden Sunday when the accident occurred around 4:30 p.m.

The injured man, who has not been identified, was conscious when he was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

The accident is being investigated.

The small wooden boat carrying 60 people left the northeast town of Nagua before dawn Saturday morning.

As of press time, 10 bodies (4 women and six men) were recovered and nine people were rescued.

It is unclear who found fifty-four year old Nigel Doughty, who was also the co-founder of private equity firm Doughty Hanson & Co, dead inside his home in Skillington, Lincolnshire, and how he died.

Doughty, who had a net worth of about $205million, founded his private equity firm with Richard Hanson in 1995.  In 1999, he bought Nottingham Forrest for $16.5 million with his personal money and became the team’s chairman three years later.

In October last, Doughty announced he would be stepping down as Forest chairman at the end of the season.

Doughty’s also owned the luggage maker Tumi and British cinema operator Vue and Norti.

The chain of events started early Friday morning when Lawrence Wallace Jr. walked into a store with a lighter and lighting fluid and ordered the cashier to hand over the money that was in the register.

As the cashier was handing over the money, Wallace jumped over the counter and began spraying the lighter fluid on the floor and started a fire.

An off-duty officer who was in the store tackled Wallace to the ground and then cuffed him.

Mobile Mayor Samuel Jones told reporters that Wallace was taken to metro jail and while at the station Wallace stabbed Officer Steven Green.

It is unclear whether Officer Green was the off-duty cop who apprehended Wallace and Mayor Samuel did not say what weapon was used to stab the officer and how Wallace was able to obtain it.

Mayor Jones said Wallace then stole a police cruiser which started a massive manhunt for the fugitive.

Officers later found the police cruiser without Wallace.

Twenty-four year old Wallace was later found hiding under a house and during a standoff Wallace shot an officer.

Police opened fire killing Wallace.

It is unclear how Wallace was able to obtain the gun.

Police said 31-year-old Louis McCrae shot and killed his 26-year-old girlfriend Vanessa Watson then committed suicide.

Relatives said Banks, who was a fashion model, had asked McCrae to move out of the home he shared with her and her three children and he had agreed to do so without any arguments.

On Tuesday morning Banks was driving MCrae to the train station and on the way there McCrae shot and killed her before shooting himself in the head.

A viewing for Watson is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Monday February 6^th, at Morris Chapel Baptist Church at 2701 N. Lehigh Ave.  Funeral service is scheduled for immediately after the viewing at the same church.

Authorities have confirmed that a third person, a 16-year-old girl, also died in the early morning accident in the Bronx.  The teenager was identified as Daniela Abreu.

Abreu, who was pregnant, died at St. Barnabas Hospital.

Reports say Eduardo Nunez was driving recklessly on the Major Deegan Expressway shortly after midnight on Thursday when he lost control of his 2012 Chrysler 300 sedan.

Authorities said Abreu, who was a student at George Washington High School, was a passenger in the backseat.

Thirty-year-old Nunez, of Washington Heights, was pronounced dead at the scene, along with 22-year-old Jose Henriquez.

Passengers Raymond Batista, a 21-year-old Yonkers resident, and 18-year-old Garcia Abel, of Washington Heights, were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital.

Batista suffered severe head trauma and Abel, suffered injuries to her hip, leg and back.

Two people were killed in an early morning single vehicle accident on the Major Deegan Expressway.

According to the accident report, the 30-year-old motorist was observed driving erratically in the northbound direction of the major New York City highway around 12:30 a.m. Thursday.

As the driver was approaching the Cross Bronx Expressway he lost control of his Chrysler Charger and slammed into a concrete pillar on the Major Deegan Expressway killing himself and one of his four passengers.

A 16-year-old girl, and two men, ages 18 and 21, were rushed to St. Barnabas hospital.

As of press time there were no updates on their conditions.

Police have not identified the driver and his passengers.

Clinton Forde was stabbed to death by his 33-year-old brother, Gideon Forde, inside his South Jamaica home.

According to reports, around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday Clinton Forde heard his 1-year-old daughter Ashley historically crying and when he went to her second floor bedroom he found her lying in a pool of blood and his brother, Gideon Forde, trying to attack his other child, 9-year-old Isaiah.

As the younger brother tried to pull his older brother away from his son there was a struggle and Gideon Forde plunged the knife into his brother’s torso.

Meanwhile, Chilton Forde’s wife, who witnessed the incident, called 911 and when officers arrived they found Gideon Forde still inside the home.

The father-of-six was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where he died.

Ashley, who had cuts to her neck and throat, was treated at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.  Her brother was not injured in the incident.

Relatives said Clinton Forde had tried to help his brother kick his drug habit and had recently taken him off the streets and moved him into his home with his family.

They said Clinton Forde kicked his brother out of his home last month after he failed to give up his drug habit, and he was forced to obtain a restraining order against his brother after he threatened to harm him and his family.

The fire broke out shortly after midnight at a home on 120^th Avenue near Sutphin Boulevard.

Sixty-nine year old Elaine Spencer was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other family members, who were home at the time of the fire, were injured.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
