The powerhouse couple listed their Beachside Avenue home that sits on 7.56 acres for $27.5million.

The couple bought two properties (120 and 122 Beachside Avenue) in 1998 and then demolished one, building a spec home, which they sold in 2006 for $25million, the current highest price for a single residential home in Westport.

In 2007, the couple demolished the other home and today, they are selling it for a record breaking $27.5 million.

The 8,716 sq foot cedar-shingled home has six bedrooms, four full baths 2 ½ baths and three fireplaces.  The main house has an elevator, wet bar 9foot ceilings, office/computer room, partially finished basement.  There is a guest house, gate house and a fitness center.

I predict they are not going to get anything close to the $25million for got for the other house in 2006.

Newton defeated the incumbent, Senator Edwin Gomes, and state Rep. Andres Ayala Jr. for the 23^rd district seat at a local convention in Bridgeport Monday night.

Newton, who was found guilty of accepting a $5,000 bribe, evading taxed and pilfering campaign contributions to pay for his car repairs and other personal expenses, served four years in federal prison on corruption charges.  He was released from prison in February 2010 and transferred to a halfway house in Waterbury.

Fifty-six year old Newton, who had served 17 years in the legislature before resigning in 2005, said he is grateful for a second chance.

The state Democratic primary is scheduled for August 14.

The alleged attack is said to have taken place earlier this month.

Details surrounding the assault were not immediately available, but the teenager was arrested on Thursday and charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury or impairing the morals of a child.

He is scheduled to appear in court on May 22.

I was informed that there were children from a local private school, all under the age10, within view of this woman.

A little after 11:00 a.m. Friday court marshals and local police officers evacuated everyone inside the Hoyt Street building.

Authorities found a suspicious package outside the building in a garbage can.  The package was removed and taken to a bomb squad truck.

The bag’s content was not available at press time.

It’s not immediately known whether the bomb scare was connected to suspect Frank Douglas, who was scheduled to be arraigned around noon time.

Thirty-year-old Douglas, of Norwalk, was arrested  Thursday on robbery and other charges.

Stamford police Officer Troy Strauser was critically injured after falling from the Fairfield Avenue overpass near exit 14 on I-95 early Thursday morning while pursuing Douglas.

As of Friday, Officer Strauser, a six year veteran, had undergone three surgeries.

Luis Vega said he was son his way to walking behind the New Haven Regional Fire Training Academy on Ella Grasso Boulevard around 9:30 a.m. Friday when she saw the body.

Vega notified firefighters at the academy who called 911.

It’s unclear how long the man had been dead.

Authorities said it’s too early to say whether the incident is a homicide.

Authorities said other than the family’s two dogs no one was inside the home at 5 Steep Hollow Lane.

A neighbor called 911 after seeing smoke coming from the home.  The neighbor, Grant Gyesky, who owns Gyesky Development and Design, also rescued the family’s two German shepherds, Barrett and Stella.

In an interview with the Greenwich Time newspaper Gyesky said “As I went into the house, I saw that the two dogs were there.  The one dog was sort of circling the cage.  It wasn’t going to leave the other dog’s side.”

The completely damaged home is owned by Nancy and Thomas Kralovenec.  The couple has two children, Jennifer, a sophomore at Greenwich High School and Taylor, who is a senior in college.

Thomas Kralovenec is the owner of Kralovenec Electric.

The cause of fire was not immediately known.

Police said Robert L. Jennings, of 28 Ridge Street, has a history of assaulting and stalking his victim since 1987. His latest arrest occurred on Tuesday, when officers arrested him for a February 19 incident.

He was charged with second-degree breach of peace, first-degree stalking and violation of a protective order.

Police said over the last 20 years the victim has accused Jennings of sexually assaulting her, showing up at her workplace and following her around town.

His first arrest occurred in 1987, when his victim accused him of sexually assaulting her.  He was found not guilty of that offense, but has since racked up several other arrests.

On May 25, 2006, Jennings was found guilty of an October 2004 second-degree breach of peace.  He was sentenced to 6 months jail, execution suspended and placed on 2 years probation.

On April 3, 2008, Jennings was found guilty of June 10, 2006 charges of a class A of violating his probation, interfering with a police officer and resisting arrest.

He was sentenced to one year in jail, execution suspended with a conditional discharge for three years.

Also on April 3, 3008 he was found guilty of violating his probation on October 22, 2007.  He was sentenced to 1 year jail, execution suspended and placed on probation.

I guess the judge is going to keep putting Jennings on probation until he kills his victim.

Few details surrounding the accident, which occurred around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday on Richland Rod, were made available.

It is believed an SUV hit a vehicle traveling in the opposite directions sending that car into a parked vehicle.

The SUV then ended in a yard.

The conditions on the injured were not available at press time.

Police say Andrew Hernandez emptied his grandmother’s bank account and verbally and physically abused her in public.

Peoples United Bank employees were the first the raise the alarm after seeing the way Hernandez was treating the elderly woman.

When officers went to the victim’s home to speak with her, she allegedly told cops that her grandson had stolen her vehicle.

Hernandez is being held on a $50,000 bond.

Authorities said Hernandez lived with his grandmother in Fairfield.
