Suffield police began searching for Dale Wakefield, of Pennsylvania, around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday after he assaulted a guard at the Lincoln College of New England dormitory at 1760 Mapleton Avenue.

The campus was placed on lockdown after the teenager threatened to kill himself and others, however, the lockdown was lifted around 4:00 a.m. after Wakefield was deemed to be non violent.

Reports say Wakefield, whose father recently passed away, was drinking just before he went “ballistic” picking up tables, smashing windows and fighting with the guard.

The 18-year old man, who fell from a cliff in Sleeping Giant over the weekend, has succumbed to his injuries and died at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Tobias Engel, the son of Quinnipiac Professor Len Engel, fell from the chin area while hiking with relatives on Sunday.

An 18-year-old Connecticut man is struggling to stay alive after falling 200feet off a cliff over the weekend.

The man and his family were hiking in Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden Sunday when the accident occurred around 4:30 p.m.

The injured man, who has not been identified, was conscious when he was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

The accident is being investigated.

The couple told police they had just returned home around 1:00 a.m. Friday and were walking from their vehicle to their front door when a man, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, walked up to them and demanded that they turn over their money, while claiming to have a weapon.

The couple turned over cash and their valuable possessions then called 911.

Police arrived with a K9 and the dog followed the burglar’s track to a neighboring home at 58 Grayrock Road.

Police looking through a window spotted the suspect, later identified as Sean Michael Delaney Kkosmicki, of 10 Lockwood Circle, in Westport, rummaging through what looked like the victim’s purse.

Kosmicki spotted the officer outside then ran into a furnace room in the basement of the home.  When ordered to surrender, Kosmicki refused and the officer released the dog forcing him to surrender.

While searching the home for other suspects, police found 19-year-old Sergio Paul, who lived at the home.

Kosmicki was charged with fifth-degree larceny, two counts of first-degree robbery, interfering with an officer and possession of narcotics.

Paul was charged with sixth-degree larceny, possession of narcotics and conspiracy to commit first degree robbery.

Paul is being held on $150,000 bond and Kosmicki on $250,000 bond.

State Trooper Christ Toney was treated at Day Kimball Hospital for non-life threatening injuries and Officer Ken Davidson, who also suffered non-life threatening injuries, declined medical treatment.

According to the police report, Trooper Toney was on patrol around 5:45 p.m. Friday when she spotted a vehicle pulling out of an abandoned home near Route 14.

With the assistance of Officer Davidson, Trooper Toney attempted to pull over the vehicle near the Canterbury Fire House and officers immediately recognized the passenger inside the vehicle as 22-year-old Mark Mills, who was wanted for failure to appear in court, twice.

As the officer tried to remove Mills from the vehicle there was a struggle and Mills yelled to the female driver to drive away.

The vehicle began moving while the two officers were partially inside. They were dragged a short distance before falling to the ground.

As of press time Mills and his female driver were still at large. They were last seen driving a silver-colored Chevy Lumina with Connecticut plates 145-JCL

A description of the driver was not given.

Norwalk police said twenty-year-old Joseph “Jabbs” Bateman was shot around 5:45 p.m. Friday at close range on the riverside walk between the Avalon Norwalk apartments on Belden Avenue and the OTB facility on Burnell Blvd.

Bateman, who was known to officers, was rushed to the hospital, where he died several hours later.

This was the second time that Bateman was shot on the streets of Norwalk.  On New Year’s Day 2011 he was shot in the face.

It is unclear whether the shootings are related.

One of the women told police she was being examined by Dr. Edwin A. Njoku on October 22, 2011, in his office at Christus Medical Group, when he “forcefully had sexual intercourse with her against her will.”

The victim also told police that the 52-year-old doctor had previously assaulted her in his office located at 589 Burnside Avenue, but the sexual attack was less serious.

Authorities say after the woman filed a complaint with police, Njoku contacted her in a bid to get her to withdraw her complaint.

While police were investigating the doctor they learned that other patients were victimized in a similar manner.

Police Lt. Curt Stoldt said his department received an overwhelming amount of complaints that detectives are just taking the victims’ basic information and promising to get back to them.

Dr. Njoku was charged with first-degree sexual assault, two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault, bribing a witness and first-degree unlawful restraint.

Dr. Njoku, who has offices in Windsor, Hartford and East Hartford, remains jailed and is to be arraigned in Superior Court in Manchester on Wednesday.

The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. in New Haven at Winchester Avenue and Webster Street.

According to the police report, Hamden police officers were attempting to pull over a BMW X5 during a routine traffic stop around 12:30 a.m. near Dix and Arch streets, when the driver of the luxury vehicle sped up and led officers on a high speed chase throughout the city.  The driver then entered Southern Connecticut State University campus area in New Haven then into the Newhallville area.

Officer had placed stop-sticks in the road to blow out the tires but the driver swerved to avoid them veering toward an officer.

The driver, who has not yet been identified, then lost control of his vehicle and drove into a house at 91 Winchester Avenue landing on 34-year-old Michael Sweat, who was asleep in his bed.

It took firefighters about an hour to remove Sweat, who suffered second and third-degree burns to the lower part of his body, from under the vehicle.

Doctors at The Hospital of St. Raphael say Sweat will survive his injuries.

Police did not say whether they were able to apprehend the driver of the SUV.

Reports say New Haven police had refused to join Hamden officers in the chase.

The incident is being investigation.

Authorities say Officer John Marvin was driving on Route 85 in Hebron shortly after midnight when he drove through a stop sign at the intersection of Route 94 and crashed into an embankment.

Marvin, who was speeding and not wearing his seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Speeding, no seatbelt, running a stop sign….some police officer he was.  Thank God no one else was injured.

Greenwich police did not say whether the person inside the home was a male or female, but they said they were contacted by someone who was concerned for the person’s wellbeing after not hearing from them in days.

It is believed that the person had been severely depressed, whoever, it is unclear whether the person was taking medication for the illness.

When police arrived at the home around 2:00 p.m., they found the resident in a 2^nd floor bedroom.

Reports say Andrew Robert Levene, also known as Robert Thomas, was found in an undisclosed Spanish prison earlier today.
