An actor who was arrested two years ago for hitting a NYC police officer during a melee, pleaded guilty today to a misdemeanor charge.

Actor Nathaniel Marston, who played Dr. Michael McBain on the ABC soap opera “One Life to Live,” pleaded guilty to assaulting an officer in 2007, in a bizarre fight.

According to the 34-year-old actor, in October 2007, he got into a physical altercation with three taxi drivers after one driver accidentally drove into him.

The actor then accidentally hit the officer, who accused the former boxer of being on cocaine, an accusation which eventually led to the actor getting fired from the popular daytime show.

Marston, who will not serve any jail time in the bizarre incident, said although the cocaine accusations were never substantiated the accusation has made it difficult for him to obtain work.

A former Detroit councilwoman who was sentenced to three years and one month in prison on Wednesday, made it clear to the judge that she was not happy with his decision.

After her sentencing earlier today, former Councilwoman Monica Conyers who pleaded guilty to taking bribes for her support of a Houston company seeking a sludge contract last summer, yelled that she was “badgered” in admitting guilt.

Conyers had requested earlier to have her guilty plea withdrawn but a judge denied her request.

Conyers is the wife of Democratic U.S. Rep. John Conyers.

It is alleged that 39-year-old Teresa McKenzie started a 14-month sexual relationship with the boy when he was 16-years-old.

Chester Crown Court heard how McKenzie phoned and emailed the teenager at least 600 times, and provided him with condones for their sexual encounters.

In one of the emails, McKenzie wrote, “I am dreaming of hiring a pirate ship with you and sailing across the seven seas.  We could find a deserted island with just palms trees and lapping waves and hot sun….I will love you forever and ever and ever.”

When questioned by authorities about the letters, McKenzie allegedly said they were to support the teenager, who is “a very trouble young man.”

McKenzie and the teenager met in February 2006 when she began working at the Cheshire special school.

It is alleged that the teenager soon became infatuated with the much older woman and followed her around “like a lost dog.”

Prosecutors said the relationship culminated in August 2008 when McKenzie had sex with the boy, who has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and emotionally disturbed behavior, in the toilets of the British Library.

Authorities said McKenzie had told the boy’s mother she loved him and would resign from her job.

In a Quebec courtroom, Pierre Defoy told the court, “I know that I transported my victim in a trunk, that he was scared, that I raped him and that I took away his innocence.”

“Since the beginning, I have felt very dirty,” the 52-year-old continued.  “There is not one day that I’m not ashamed.  I am infinitely sorry for what I did.”

Defoy claims that the medication he was taking at the time caused him to commit the heinous crime.

Dr. John Wolwertz testified that Defoy may have developed amnesia because of his struggles with his sexual orientation.

In July 2008, Defoy grabbed the boy near his home in Levis and put him in the trunk of his car and drove to Quebec City.

Thirty minutes later while sitting in traffic, the trunk of Defoy’s car popped opened and a witness, Ryan Murphy, saw the boy inside.

Murphy called the police then followed Defoy to an apartment building where he saw him take the boy inside.

Police found the boy bound, gagged and locked in a heating oil tank in the basement of the building.

Defoy’s was also accused of two similar incidents in 1990 and 2005.

Security at the courthouse was beefed up for the hearings.

Former immigration board judge Steven Ellis is on trial in Toronto for bribing Ji-Hye Kim into having sex with him in exchange for approval on her refugee application.

Federal Crown Attorney Lynda Trefler told the court on Monday how two months after hearing Kim’s refugee application, Ellis went to her place of business on two different occasions.

The court heard how Ellis set up a third meeting to discuss Kim’s case, which he had not yet ruled on, and it was at that meeting that Kim wore an audio recording device and her then-boyfriend Brad Tripp used a video to surreptitiously capture her September, 26 2006 meeting with Ellis at a Starbucks.

It is alleged that during the third meeting Ellis, who was once a city councilor, outlined what he wanted from Kim.

“You’ve got a boyfriend and I’ve got a wife.  If we do things on the side, that’s okay.  I am not going to asking (sic) you to move in with me or anything like that.  I am not going to fall in love with you,” Trefler quoted Ellis as telling Kim.

It is also alleged that Ellis, who pleaded not guilty to a criminal breach of trust and bribery charges, told Kim not to tell anyone about their meetings and before kissing her goodbye on the cheek, he allegedly told her that they would meet the following week for a “big celebration.”

Kim, who has since married Tripp, reported the incident to the RCMP.

A Colorado court must decide if Mary Robbins’ head and brain will be given to her family to be buried with the rest of her body or if it should go to the Alcor Life Extension Foundation of Scottsdale to be preserved by cryonics, which means, it is held in extremely cold temperatures in the expectation that future technology may be able to bring her back to life.

Robbins daughter, Darlene said although her mother signed documents in 2006 giving Alcor the right to cryogenically preserve her head and brain, along with leaving them a $50,000 annuity to cover the preservation costs, she changed her mind prior to her death on February 9 and there are signed documents to prove it.

Darlene said her mother changed her mind because of the procedures that preservation would have required before she died, which included having tubes in her throat and nose, intravenous lines and medications.

She said her mother signed new paperwork stating this and paperwork leaving her the annuity.

Attorneys representing Alcor said Robbins never signed documents rescinding the 2006 agreement, but as a compromise they suggested to Darlene to give them the head of her 71-year-old mother and take the rest of the body, but Darlene rejected the offer saying she wants custody of her mother’s entire body.

Robbins’ body is currently stored on dry ice at a Colorado Springs mortuary and will continue to stay there until a judge decides in the case.

A British man, who was accused of killing his girlfriend after having sex with her in the woods, was found guilty today in Old Bailey Court.

Peter Ling told the jury that after making love to Linda Case in Banstead Woods, Surrey on August 13, 2009, she taunted him about his privates, a subject he was very sensitive about.

“She said ‘you are not being enough for me’”, Ling told the court. “I’ve always been conscious of my size. I just lost it completely.”

Authorities say Casey, 54, was struck several times in the face with a rock.

Lawyer for 50-year-old Ling was asking the jury to find him guilty of manslaughter and not murder; however, in a vote of 11 to one, a jury rejected his claims and found him guilty of murder.

Ling was jailed for life with a minimum term of 18 years.

Lower Merion School District Superintendent Christopher McGinley says the schools only activated the webcams to find missing laptops.

Our “technology and security departments would activate the webcam when student laptops were lost or stolen,” McGinley said. He also said the cameras were never activated for other purposes.

Earlier this week a student, Blake Robbins and his parents filed a lawsuit against the district after a school administrator told him that the camera caught him doing something inappropriate at home.

The lawsuit accused the school of electronic spying on students.

Robbins’ college tuition just got paid!

After the sentencing was passed down by Justice Alfred Stong, Ruohang Liu, one of the men who were attacked, began to cry and swear before throwing a chair at a window in the hallway of the courtroom.

Justice Stong said that race was a factor when Trevor Middleton and three other men from Georgina Township attacked Liu, 24, and six other men including Shayne Berwick, 26, who was left permanently brain damage.

Last December, a jury found Middleton guilty of four counts of aggravated assault and two counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

The court heard how on September 16, 2007, Middleton, and the other thugs shoved the anglers into Lake Simcoe, an attack that locals called “Nip” or “Nipper-tipping.”

A fight erupted between the two groups then Liu and his friends fled in their car.  Middleton and his friends followed the fishermen in their pick-up truck ramming the men off the road, causing them to crash into a tree.

Berwick was severely injured in the crash.

Before Liu was arrested yesterday, he shouted in the hallway of the courthouse, “There is no justice in Canada.  I will not go fishing ever in Canada again.  I no longer trust anyone I meet.  I feel like I can only trust people I have from the past.”

Middleton was sentenced to two years less a day, three years probation after serving his sentence and 240 hours of community service.

Berwick’s family is urging the Crown to appeal to the sentence.  They are asking for 10 years.

Hours after getting the devastating news from her boyfriend, sixteen-year-old Kimberley Wilcox took a handful of pills to drown her pain.

An inquest at Leicester Town Hall heard yesterday how after taking the pills Kimberley, a hairdressing student at Leicester College, met up with friends, whom she told she had attempted at an overdose to “scare” her boyfriend Ashley Fairbrother into coming back to her.

It wasn’t until she returned home later that night that the effects of the pills caught up with her.  Her mother called an ambulance after she collapsed at home and 11 days later she died in hospital from organ failure and brain damage.

An inquest heard how the two teenagers first met when they were in primary school, and how they dated for 11 months before Kimberley’s death.

Ashley, 19, a law student at Leeds University told the court that he ended the relationship just before Christmas 2008, after he kissed another girl while he was on vacation.

“This really upset Kim,” Ashley said.  “But we’d carried on seeing each other. I then came back to Leicester and told her I wanted to end things.”

He said Kimberley texted him later that day saying, “Ash I can’t handle being away from you. I am going to die…. I’ve taken a paracetamol overdose.”

Ashley told the court he called Kimberley’s mother who said Kimberley, “hadn’t taken anything and that Kim was fine.”

Kimberley’s mother told the court that it wasn’t until she picked up her daughter from her friend’s house that Kimberley admitted to taking the pills and shortly after getting home she collapsed.

She was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where she died on February 3.

After the hearing yesterday Kimberley’s mother said, “Youngsters need to know the dangers of taking too much paracetamol.  We miss Kimberley so much; she had so much to live for.”
