Greenwich police did not say whether the person inside the home was a male or female, but they said they were contacted by someone who was concerned for the person’s wellbeing after not hearing from them in days.

It is believed that the person had been severely depressed, whoever, it is unclear whether the person was taking medication for the illness.

When police arrived at the home around 2:00 p.m., they found the resident in a 2^nd floor bedroom.

Crew-members on the hit cable show have taken over the old Thataways restaurant for the day, turning it into part of the set.  They have also set up shop in the tiny parking lot of People’s bank at the bottom of The Avenue.

The Big C is based on a suburban wife, played by Laura Linney, who is diagnosed with cancer, and is now living life to the fullest

The show, which is actually shot in Stamford, Connecticut, is filmed in a Minneapolis, Minnesota setting.

Sheri G. Lampert, of 21 Meadowcroft Road, was arrested on Tuesday after she drove her vehicle into the garage door of a home on Doubling Road.

Police were called and when the responding officer arrived at the scene he observed Lampert standing on the front steps of the residence screaming at the door……hmmm

Lampert was charged with disorderly conduct, a class C misdemeanor and second-degree criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor.

She was released without bond after agreeing to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford on January 24.

I was shopping at the Stop & Shop in Glenville last night and I noticed a very distinguished looking man and his teen son (about 13 maybe 14) acting suspiciously in the parking lot next to a new 2012 Porsche Cayenne.

The parking lot had about 6 vehicles, so, I got in my car (pretended that I was on my phone) and watched them for about 30 minutes to see what they were up to.

The father and son (I am assuming that the boy was his son) waited until most of the vehicles were gone then they took two medium size containers filled with empty soda and water bottles out of the trunk of the vehicle and began walking towards the supermarket.

As they got close to the door, a car pulled into the lot and the father and son dropped the containers and walked away.  About five minutes later that customer came out of the store then left.

Father and son quickly picked up the containers and walked quickly into the store.

About 15 minutes later father and son walked out of the store with the containers minus the bottles.

Even the rich are being frugal these days…..it’s nothing to be embarrassed about, but it’s going to take a lot of bottles to fill up that Porsche….. gas is almost $4 a gallon.

The proud grandfather said Beatrice was born 8lbs 6oz.

According to the Greenwich Time newspaper, the town has “severed ties with the Greenwich Athletic Association” over “financial irregularities and ‘an overall lack of transparency.’”

The newspaper obtained a letter that Peter J. Mandras Jr., who is the town’s Superintendent of Recreation, wrote to members of the Greenwich Athletic Association stating that over the last several years the town was informed of “issues of concern” regarding the operation of the organization.

The newspaper cited a list of issues that the town was concerned about including an unnamed officer of GAA receiving a $30,000 salary, yet the organization stated zero compensation on their 2010 tax return.

The letter also stated that the organization’s finances were handled by only one person, the organization’s treasurer, who is believed to be Anthony Ferraro, who lives in Cos Cob.

The treasurer was responsible for paying bills, depositing money and “reconciles the bank statements.”

According to the newspaper article, the organization also changed their policy of having two signatures on GAA checks to one without notifying the town.

The GAA was formed in 1979 to enhance the quality of adult softball and youth baseball programs in Greenwich.  The group has raised money to improve the town’s athletic fields.

Mr. Ferraro looks like you have a lot of explaining to do.

Police arrested Henry Jara-Villmarin in the Crumbs Bakery parking lot on West Putnam Ave on January 18.

Authorities say Jara-Villmarin and his girlfriend were arguing in the parking lot around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday when he got into his car and she followed him.

Jara-Villmarin told responding officers that he asked the woman to get out of his car and when she refused he called 911 claiming he had killed her in order to expedite the emergency call.

He was charged with falsely reporting an incident and falsely reporting an incident concerning serious injury or death.

He is being held on a $5,000 bond.

Details of the case that Dr. Frank Evangelista is accused of giving false information about have been impounded and set aside from public scrutiny under Massachusetts law.

Dr. Evangelista, who testified in several high-profile murder cases in both Connecticut and Massachusetts, has been charged with perjury.

The forensic pathologist, who earns over $190,000 a year, testified in the 2010 trial of murdered Greenwich real estate mogul Andrew Kissel.

Dr. Evangelista is a graduation of Georgetown University School of Medicine and he is board-certified in forensic pathology, anatomic pathology and clinical pathology.

He was hired by the state of Connecticut in October 2004.

Authorities say no one was hurt in the Monday afternoon fire at an 8,400sq-foot home in the exclusive Khakum Wood Road area in Greenwich.
Fire officials say the fire started in the three-car garage of the 8-bedroom home and quickly spread to the living area above.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the garage area; however, officials said damages to the area were “extensive”
Town records list the owner of the home as 37 Khakum Wood Road Corp.
The fire is under investigation.

Authorities say one person was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Little details, including the victim’s name and age are available.

The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. Monday.
