Sixty nine year old Phillip Bruce Shepard, who worked at a private Phnom Penh clinic, was arrested last July after the boys’ parents filed a complaint against him.

 Authorities began monitoring the Michigan native behavior and they caught him going into a hotel with two boys, whom he paid to have sex with.

The judge who sentenced Shepard also ordered that he is expelled from the country after he serves his time.

According to court documents, JP Morgan employee David Gray began harassing his ex-girlfriend, Daniela Rausnitz, since last August after he found her in her Chelsea apartment with her new boyfriend.

Rausnitz eventually called the police after he used an old key to enter her apartment and placed a tracking device in her phone and hacked her email.

The day he was arrested, police found him outside the Intercontinental Hotel in Park Lane where Rausnitz had been hiding out with family members.  He was carrying two bottles of whisky and Cuban cigars.  He told officers he was an Israeli secret service agent and he had received tapes of conversations recorded by a hidden bug under Rausnitz’s bed and urgently needed to speak with her.

He later admitted to making up the story in a desperate attempt to evade arrest.

Gray first met 25-year-old Daniela Rausnitz when she worked as an unpaid intern in JP Morgan’s investment banking division in Manhattan while attending Duke University.

After college, Rausnitz returned to JP Morgan as a full time employee and began dating Gray, who is married.

Gray, who had been with the financial firm since 2004, was planning on leaving his wife, but after a year, Rausnitz decided that the relationship was “too stifling” so she asked for a transfer to the London office to put some distance in the relationship.

Last August, Gray flew to London four times that month and during one of his visits, he found Rausnitz in her apartment with a new boyfriend.

According to court documents, from August until the day he was arrested, Gray subjected Rausnitz to a relentless barrage of visits and messages.  Rausnitz told authorities that during a 16 hour period, Gray sent her 176 text messages and 23 emails and he used an old key to enter Gray’s home to remove two candlesticks that once belonged to his grandmother.

Gray was sentenced to a conditional discharge at West London Magistrates’ Court, but he was warned that if he continues to harass Rausnitz, then he would be jailed.

As of yesterday, Gray and Rausnitz were still employed at JP Morgan.

Experts say because the county jails in California are overcrowded it is likely that Murray will be a free man in a few months.

During the sentencing this morning, LA County Superior Court Judge Michael Pastors scolded Murray for audio taping Jackson in his final days calling the incident an “insurance policy.”

“That tape recording was Dr. Murray’s insurance policy.  It was designed to record [Jackson] at that patient’s most vulnerable point,” Judge Pastor said.

Judge Pastor also said that Murray showed no sense of remorse and he “remains dangerous” to society.

A jury found Murray criminally negligent when he gave Jackson propofol in the bedroom of his California home without the proper monitoring or resuscitative equipment.

Robert Burke, the former principal of Sageville Elementary School, was sentence on Monday during a hearing in federal court in Cedar Rapids.

Forty-three year old Burke had pleaded guilty to one count of producing child pornography in August.

 FBI arrested Burke last June without incident at his home in Dubuque after agents in Washington DC linked his computer to images of child pornography that were being shared on the Internet.

During the raid of Burke’s home, agents found a collection of child pornography on several hard drives.  During an interview that same day, Burke told authorities about how he hid cameras at the school.

He said between January and June of this year, he hid a small video camera near a bathroom sink.  In addition, he said he attached a camera on his belt to capture images of the genitals of at least 59 male students between the ages of 5 and 11.

Ward Crawley, a special agent with Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, testified on Monday that Burke save the video files on his computer with the child’s first name and last initial.

Authorities say during an online chat with another pedophile, Burke said he had images of “boys peeing at urinals.

Burke, a former Catholic school principal who had been at Sageville since 2004, denied ever sexually abusing any of the children, and a federal investigation did not uncover any evidence to the contrary.

Richard Shenkman, who claimed he was not in his right mind during the 2009 incident, was charged with first-degree kidnapping, first-degree arson, third-degree assault, attempted assault on police officers, interfering with police, violation of a protective order and first-degree threatening.

 He faces more than 50 years in prison when he is sentenced on January 4.

Prosecutor Vicki Melchiorre told the jury of four men and two women that Shenkman was an “angry, abusive and controlling individual” who wanted to make sure that his ex-wife Nancy Tyler was left penniless.

On July 7, 2009, Shenkman kept police at bay for 15 hours after he kidnapped Tyler then set fire to their home at 96 Tumblebrook Drive, in South Windsor.

The standoff eventually ended when Shenkman came out of the burning home and pointed a handgun at his head.  He was subdued then taken into custody.

Authorities said Shenkman had canceled the insurance on the home, which his wife got in their divorce, to make sure she got nothing.

Melchiorre said Shenkman’s attempt at pleading mental insanity was nothing more than a ploy to avoid going to prison.

Before passing down the sentence Elyria Municipal Judge Lisa Locke Graves told Toni Duncan her act was “absolutely reprehensible” and ordered her to take anger management classes in addition to the jail time.  She was also ordered to stay away from the store and the victim for five years.

Duncan and her 23-year-old daughter were accused of choking the 71-year-old Wal-Mart greeter after he asked to see a receipt as they left the store.

Duncan’s daughter was sentenced to three days in jail for disorderly conduct.  She too was ordered to stay away from the Elyria store and the victim for five years.

Ward, whose trial lasted two weeks, looked stoic when the verdict was being read.

He faces up to life in prison when he is sentenced in November.

Prosecutors say Ward shot and killed his wife in September 2009, days before she was due to give a deposition in a lawsuit alleging he used money meant to maintain subdivisions in Tennessee to purchase expensive homes and cars for himself.

The jury heard a 911 call that Ward made immediately after his wife was shot where he confessed five times to killing his wife.  After hiring an attorney, Ward said his wife committed suicide.

Reports say at the time of the murder the Wards were under stress from the bankruptcy of their real estate company, Land Resource.

An insurance company that issued bonds for subdivisions the Wards were building in Tennessee in 2007 had filed a $20 million lawsuit against the builder and his wife claiming they used the money that was meant to improve the subdivisions to buy their 8,800 square foot home in Isleworth, Florida, and to pay off mortgages totaling $2.5 million on two homes they owned in Georgia.

They were also accused of purchasing a $140,000 Mercedes Benz with the money.

The Wards two children, who were in the courtroom today, have supported their father since his arrest.

Shortly after he was found guilty for the March 7, 2007 execution of Jonathan Chambers, Lenworth “Blue” Spence whispered “Don’t cry, at least I’m still alive,” from the prisoners box to his loved ones in the courtroom.

Authorities say Spence, of Brampton, was the mastermind behind the killing of the 21-year old Markham man.

It was argued that Chambers, who was the middle man of two drug dealers named “Wolf” and “Bounty”, was given a stack of fake cash in a $50,000 drug deal to give to Spence.

Angry after being duped, Spence ordered his men to hold Chambers captive and beat him through the night. 

Early the next morning, Spence ordered his men to drive Chambers to a desolate road in north Barrie and while Spence remained in his vehicle, his henchmen ordered Chambers out of the car.  Once outside, they ordered him to kneel in the snow just before shooting him five times in the back.

A mentally challenged man, who was identified as Andrew Turner, pleaded guilty to pulling the trigger of the gun that killed Chambers.

Sentencing is scheduled for November 1.

Following a two month investigation, Peter Hodson was arrested and fired from his job as a constable with the Vancouver police department last April.

The former officer had pleaded guilty to two counts of breach of trust by a public officer and one charge of trafficking in a controlled substance.

It’s been reported that a confession made by convicted drug dealer Tyson Pappas led to an investigation of Hodson’s drug activities.

Pappas is said to have told authorities that Hodson had recruited him to sell drugs, but he decided to go to authorities after Hodson broke into his home and demanded money from him.

Hodson’s attorney, Vincent Michaels, had asked for a two-year conditional sentence to be served under house arrest, but the Crown argued that Hodson deserved to spend his time in jail, saying that the officer used his uniform and badge to commit crimes.

Hodson was given 21 days off his three-year sentence for time served.

After two days of deliberation, jurors found forty-nine year old Bobbi Parker guilty of helping convicted murderer Randolph Dial escape from the Oklahoma State Reformatory in 1994.

Prosecutors say that while living on the prison grounds with her family in 1994, Parker fell in love with Dial while working with him in a prison pottery program.

When they were captured on a chicken ranch in Campti, Texas, in 2005, Dial told authorities that he had drugged and kidnapped Parker and then threatened to have his mob connections harm her family if she ran away or called the police.

Parker, who had pleaded not guilty, did not testify at her trial.  Her lawyer Gavin Isaacs said he “will never quit until Bobbi Parker is a free woman.” Gavin said there are overwhelming evidence to support Parker’s innocence.

The jury recommended that Parker be sentenced to one year in prison.

Dial, who died in 2007, had been serving a life sentence for the 1981 murder of karate instructor Kelly Dean Hogan.

Parker and her husband, Randy, are still married.
