In a two-minute video message that was posted on her website “Giffords Ford Congress,” the Democrat said: “A lot has happened over the past your.  We cannot change that….I don’t remember much from that horrible day, but I will never forget the trust you placed in me to be your voice.”

The 41-year-old politician went on thank everyone who have prayed for her and gave her time to recover adding, “I have more work to do on my recovery.  So to do what is best for Arizona, I will step down this week.”

Giffords says she will officially submit a letter of resignation this week to House Speaker John Boehner and Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer.  They will then set a date for a special election to fill the spot for the remainder of the term, which expires the ending of this year.

Giffords was one of thirteen people shot by 23-year-old Jared Loughner on January 8, 2011 during a meet and greet event with her constitutions outside a supermarket.  Six people died.

Marianne Gingrich said Newt wanted her to agree to an open marriage and she refused.

She claims that the woman her husband wanted to share his bed with was his then-mistress, who is now his current wife.

Marianne Gingrich told ABC’s Nightline that when her husband asked her for permission to commit adultery she “just stared at him and he said, ‘Callista doesn’t care what I do.’ He wanted an open marriage and I refused.”

What does he have to hide?

Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich and his family are doing everything possible to stop an ABC interview with Gingrich’s second wife, Marianne.

The potentially damaging interview is scheduled to air tonight on Nightline, two days before the Republican South Carolina primary; however, it is understood that the network is under press to not air it until Monday night.

Gingrich’s adult daughters, Kathy Lubbers and Jackie Cushman, whose mother is the politician’s first wife, Jackie Battley, allegedly sent a letter to the network stating why the interview should not be aired.

The letter reads: The failure of a marriage is a terrible and emotional experience for everyone involved.  Anyone who has had that experience understands it is a personal tragedy filled with regrets, and sometimes differing memories of events.

We will not say anything negative about our father’s ex-wife.  He has said before, privately and publicly, that he regrets any pain he may have caused in the past to people he loves.

ABC News or other campaigns may want to talk about the past, just days before an important primary election.  But Newt is going to talk to the people of South Carolina about the future– about job creation, lower taxes, and about who can defeat Barack Obama by providing the sharpest contrast to his damaging, extreme liberalism.  We are confident this is the conversation the people of South Carolina are interested in having.

Our father is running for President because of his grandchildren – so they can inherit the America he loves.  To do that, President Obama must be defeated.  And as the only candidate in the race, including Obama, who has actually helped balance the national budget, create jobs, reform welfare, and cut taxes and spending, Newt felt compelled to run – to serve his country and safeguard his grandchildren’s future.

According to Drudge Report, Marianne Gingrich was interviewed by ABC’s reporter Brian Ross for two hours.

The Report says Gingrich made some “explosive revelations [that] are set to rock the trail.”

After hearing about the interview on Wednesday, Newt Gingrich is said to have canceled a press conference he had scheduled to address the matter.

Former presidential candidate John Edwards has been diagnosed with a life-threatening heart condition.

Lawyers for the former Senator met with a federal judge in North Carolina earlier today in regards to Edwards’ pending criminal corruption trial, which was scheduled to begin this month.   A new date of March 26 has been set.

Edwards is accused of taking donations from his failed 2008 presidential campaign to hide his relationship with his mistress while his late wife was suffering from cancer.

The relationship produced a daughter.

Assembly Republican leader Alex DeCroce was pronounced dead around 11:00 p.m. Monday in the men’s room at the statehouse in Trenton shortly after the state legislature’s final voting session.

The cause of death was not immediately known.

Seventy-five year old DeCroce, who lived in Parsippany, served in the Assembly since 1989 and became the GOP’s leader there in 2003.

Gov. Chris Christie released a statement on Tuesday saying in part:   “I have known Alex for nearly 20 years.  He helped to give me my start in elective politics in Morris County in 1993.  He was one of the most kind, considerate, and trustworthy people I have ever had the pleasure to know.”

The lawyer for a California politician who was caught red-handed walking out of a San Francisco Neiman Marcus store with $2,500 worth of merchandise without paying, says his client ‘s brain tumor caused her to swipe the merchandise.

When Assemblywoman Mary Hayashi was arrested on October 23, she pleaded not guilty to a felony grand theft charge claiming that she was distracted by a cellphone call when she walked out of the Union Square store without paying a penny.

On Friday, the forty-five year old Democrat changed her plea to no contest claiming that a brain tumor caused her to shoplift the merchandise.

“Now that Ms. Hayashi’s medical condition resulting in her arrest has been taken care of, she decided that she would resolve the case was well,” her lawyer, Douglas Rappaport, said.

Judge Gerardo Sandoval sentenced her to three years of unsupervised court probation and ordered her to stay 50 feet away from the Neiman Marcus store.  She was also ordered to pay $180 in fines and fees.

Rappaport claims that Hayashi’s tumor is curable and treatable and “is no longer affecting her concentration or her judgment.”

Like I said, now I have heard it all….

Miller made the announcement during her inaugural speech this week.

The sixty-six year old prime minister said the time has come for Jamaica to break off from the British monarchy and have its own president.

“I love the Queen,” Miller said.  “She is a beautiful lady, and apart from being a beautiful lady she is a wise lady and a wonder lady.  But I think time come.”

“As we celebrate our achievements as an independent nation, we now need to complete the circle of independence,” the prime minister went on to say.

Miller is not the first Jamaican prime minister to speak about breaking away from the UK.  In the early 1990’s then-Prime Minister PJ Patterson made the same announcement and set 2007 as the deadline. Obviously that deadline has come and gone.

A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace released a statement saying in part: “The issue of the Jamaican head of state was entirely a matter for the Jamaican government and people.”

Jamaica is about to celebrate its 50 years of Independence from Britain.

Shortly after the Republican Party of Virginia made the announcement on Saturday, Gingrich’s campaign released a statement saying in part: “Only a failed system excludes four out of the six major candidates seeking access to the ballot.  Voters deserve the right to vote for any top contender especially leading candidates.  We will work with the Republican Party of Virginia to purse an aggressive write-in campaign to make sure that all the voters of Virginia are able to vote for the candidate of their choice.”

If you can’t handle something this minute how can you handle the BIG problems that Americans are facing every day?  I guess you are too busy being a lobbyist and collecting your millions.  You need to get your priorities straight!!!

Rep. Bruce “Zeke” Zalaski, of Southington was arrested following a traffic stop in Bristol around 1:00 a.m. Wednesday.

The five-term Democrat representing the 81^st Assembly District was released after posting bail with a promise to appear in Superior Court in Bristol on January 3.
