Basketball legend Charles Barkley was arrested early this morning on suspicion of drunk driving.

A DUI task force patrol officer in Old Town Scottsdale Phoenix arrested Barkley around 1:30am this morning when he ran through a stop sign.

Barkley, who retired in 2000, played 16 years in the NBA was an 11 time NBA All-Star. He was once regarded as one of the most controversial outspoken and players in the NBA.

Seven months ago, Barkley settled a $400,000 gambling debt with Wynn Las Vegas casino.

Phoenix officers did not release his blood alcohol level, but they said that he was very cooperative when he was pulled over.
