Dozens more children were being treated for severe burns and smoke inhalation in hospitals in Mexico and the United States

Sonora Governor Eduardo Bours confirmed on Saturday that the death toll in the daycare fire has risen to at least 35 children.
Update: 11:36 p.m.
The death toll is now up to 29. It’s been reported that the children are between the ages of six months and five years.
According to reports, the fire started next door in a tire warehouse and spread to the one-story concrete building that housed the state-run ABC Daycare and a state-run institution.
At least 27 children have been killed in a fire at a daycare center in Mexico, officials said.
The fire broke out in city of Hermosillo in Sonora.
A number of children were taken to a hospital for burns and smoke inhalation.
About 176 children were in the state-run facility.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
