Comedian Robin Williams will undergo heart surgery

57-year-old comedian Robin Williams will undergo heart surgery, according to his publicist.

Yesterday, the actor/comedian announced that he was postponing his one-man show and checked into a hospital after suffering from shortness of breath.

“I am touched by everyone’s support and well wishes,” Williams said in a released statement. “This tour has been amazing fun and I can’t wait to get back out on the road after a little tune-up.”

His publicist did not say when and where the surgery would take place.

Williams was in the middle of an 80-city tour of his “Weapons of Self-Destruction” show.
