Original story
Authorities in Connecticut said an advertising executive has taken his ex-wife hostage in their South Windsor home.
According to reports, Richard Shenkman abducted his ex-wife Nancy Tyler early Tuesday morning from a garage, after he missed a court hearing relating to an order that he vacate the couple’s Hartford County home.
Shortly after authorities cut off power to the neighborhood shots were fired in the home.
Authorities said as a SWAT team was gearing up to enter the home, officials said smoke could be seen coming from it.
Shenkman’s attorney, Hugh Keefe, said he hopes his client gives himself up.
