A Connecticut man is under arrested after police said he drove his car to a golf course then flipped it on its roof then reported it stolen.
South Windsor police said twenty-year-old Matthew F. Diulio drove his black Saab to the Topstone Golf Course sometime between 1 and 2:00 a.m. Wednesday then drove it onto the course, up a steep hill, then behind the first green and onto the eighth green, where he spun out several times. Diulio and his passenger, who were not injured, then abandoned the vehicle.
Grounds keeper discovered the car and the damage around 6:00 a.m. Wednesday and called police. Meanwhile, police said Diulio had reported his car stolen.
He later confessed to causing more than $10,000 worth of damages to the course.
It is unclear whether charges will be brought against the passenger.
He is due in court on August 26.
