A Connecticut woman was struck by a north bound Metro-North train in Stratford last night after she and a friend tried to cross the tracks to get to the New Haven-bound passenger platform at the depot.
Latoya Roberts was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital Wednesday night after she was struck by the Waterbury-bound train when she and a friend, who has been identified as Napoleon Jenkins, decided to cross over to the platform for passengers heading east.
Witnesses said Jenkins, 34, made it safely across the tracks, but Roberts, 31, unfortunately was not as lucky.
The incident interrupted services in New Haven area last night.
Jenkins was charged with criminal trespass by Metro-North police.
Roberts is listed in critical condition.
