Couch joyride kills 22-year-old Quebec man

Canadian authorities said a crazy stunt in Quebec’s Beauce region over the weekend has left one person dead and another under arrest.

The 22-year-old victim was riding on a couch attached to a sled that was being dragged by a van on a country road in St Benjamin, when the driver of the van lost control of the vehicle causing the sled to veer into an oncoming vehicle.

The 21-year-old driver of the van then fled the scene.  He was later arrested and charged with dangerous driving causing death and leaving the scene of an accident.

Police said there were two passengers in the van who were not injured.

The driver on the other vehicle was not injured in the accident.
