Cynthia Horvath attorney says, “my client had sex with her students because she is suffering from severe hormone imbalances”

Well, this is a first. What are we going to hear next, a teacher had sex with his/her student because  the student asked them to?  This lawyer needs to come up with a better defense.  Look, stop wasting taxpayers money and just plead guilty.  

The bottom line is, your client is sick and has ‘a thing’ for young boys, she needs to go to jail.

DAYTONA BEACH — Cynthia Horvath, the former Warner Christian Academy teacher accused of having sex with a 17-year-old male student, may not have known what she was doing was wrong because she was suffering from “severe hormone imbalances,” coupled with other mental conditions, according to papers filed in circuit court.

Those other mental conditions, which aren’t specified, will be key to any effort by defense lawyer Aaron Delgado if he relies on an insanity defense. Horvath faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, a second-degree felony. While she’s already pleaded not guilty, Horvath could be acquitted if her lawyer can prove she was legally insane at the time.”I think there may be some medical issues,” Delgado said.

In the more likely chance the case goes to trial sometime early next year, there is sure to be talk of societal double standards for men and women accused of trysts with 17-year olds. And there’s the national trend of teachers caught up in sex scandals in recent years.
