A 26-year-old Wisconsin police officer died on Sunday after his patrol car pinned him against a tree.
The freak accident occurred around 1:35 a.m. on Sunday off Highway 11 North.
Authorities say Deputy William Frederick Schuck III was patrolling a private dirt road when his cruiser got stuck.
It is believed Schuck got out of his vehicle to examine the situation and that’s when the patrol car rolled forward, pinning him between the front bumper and a tree.
His body was discovered around 3:00 a.m. after deputies unsuccessfully tried to reach him by telephone and radio.
Cause of death has been ruled as traumatic asphyxiation.
