A jury in Manhattan Federal Court said that the city was not responsible for the death of 20 year-old Rasheem Parrish.

Rasheem’s mother Donessa Parrish sued the city for the wrongful death of her son in 2006.

According to reports, Parrish was shot in March 2006 after he pulled a gun on cops who were attempting to arrest him for holding up two men at gunpoint.

Prosecutor in the case told reporters, “It is tragic that Ms. Parrish lost her son.  However, the jury correctly found that the police responded appropriately given that Mr. Parrish was holding a gun to an officer’s head when he was shot.”

Parrish appeared in the documentary “Irish Ropes” as an aspiring boxer. In the documentary he said, “The streets ain’t going to lead but two places, the penitentiary or the cemetery.”
