Early morning hit-and-run accident on FDR left one dead

Police in New York City are searching for a white SUV involved in an early morning hit-and run accident that killed a 31-year-old man on the FDR.

Authorities said the driver of the SUV was traveling on the major highway near East 84^th Street when he struck a vehicle around 2:00 a.m. Tuesday. The driver then fled the scene hitting two other vehicles in his path.

A 31-year-old passenger in a 2001 Toyota Camry was killed in the accident.

As of press time police were still searching for the driver of the SUV.
