Joshua Pascoe, who plays troubled Ben Mitchell in EastEnders, was arrested on Thursday in connection with an allegation of sexual assault. He was taken to Islington Police Station, where he has since been bailed with a promise to return to a North London police station in July.
A spokesperson for the soap said “we are aware of the allegations….given that there is a police investigation under way, it would not be appropriate to comment at this time.”
Joshua first appeared on the soap in December 2010. He was the fourth actor to play trouble gay teen Ben, the son of Phil Mitchell.
Authorities did not say whether the victim was male or female.
