Edward V.Williams Elementary School teacher, Laura Fiedler, accused of running an internet prostitution ring with her husband, Mark

A Missouri elementary school teacher and her husband are accused of running a prostitution ring in an office building in Springfield.

Laura Fielder, a third grade teacher at Edward V. Williams Elementary School, and her husband, Mark, were arrested last Tuesday.

It is alleged that the couple was running an internet prostitution ring out of a Landmark Building on north Jefferson.

Police became aware of the crime after the couple placed an ad on backpage.com about a year ago, but it is unclear why it took authorities a year to arrest the couple.

Kayla Yong, a 24-year-old prostitute, who was also arrested, told police the Fiedler’s arranged clients for her.

It is believed that Mark Fiedler ran the business and his wife assisted him.

Laura Fiedler has been placed on placed leave from the school district.
