A boss at a design and marketing company in Newcastle upon Tyne, England encouraged his employees to work completely naked in order to boost business.
According to reports, the ailing company had seen six redundancies since the start of the credit crunch so the owner brought in business psychologist David Taylor, who told the owner that working naked would boost team spirit.
Onebestway manager, Sam Jackson, 30, said Naked Friday is a huge success and the company’s business has turned around.
“It was brilliant. Now that we have seen each other naked, there are no barriers.” Jackson said. “We weren’t put under any pressure. If we wanted to come in clothed or in our underwear, we could. But I love my body and I wasn’t ashamed.”
According to reports, during the week leading up to the strip-off, employees were encouraged to photocopy parts of their bodies to make them more confident about themselves. In addition, a nude model was brought in to make the employees feel comfortable.
Managing Director Mike Owen, 40, said, “We are either brave or mad. But I did tell everyone they didn’t have to do it, only if it felt right.”
