Update:
Two people were killed in their home when the plane crashed, and others are missing from another home that was destroyed in the crash. The pilot ejected safely and is currently hospitalized.
Shortly before noon today, an F-18 fighter jet pilot ejected himself from his plane moments before it crashed into a San Diego neighborhood, a spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration said.
There is no report of the pilot’s name or his condition and if anyone was hurt on the ground.
The pilot was preparing to land at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar when the crash occurred a FAA spokesperson said
