The father of a 15-year-old Palestinian boy is accused of hanging his son after he was convinced the teenager had links to Israel.

The father, uncle and cousin of the boy, confessed to the murder stating they were suspicious that the teenager had collaborated with the Israeli army.

The boy’s body was found earlier today hanging in a barn in the village of Hajah, near the West Bank town of Qalqiliya.

In the past two years, more than 30 Palestinians have been sentenced to death for spying, but none of the sentences has been carried out.

Collaboration is considered a serious crime in Palestinian society and there have been cases where family has killed their loved ones to clear the family name.
