Fire at Greenwich Country Club displaces staff

Firefighters were called to Greenwich Country Club early this morning after a small fire broke out in the staff dormitories.

Authorities said there were no injuries in the small attic blaze that was called in around 4:03 a.m. Wednesday.

Greenwich Deputy Fire Chief Brian Koczak said “we caught [the fire] just in time, before it became significant.  The fire had just made it into the attic before we made the stop.”

The cause of fire was not immediately known.
