The New York Post is reporting that Food Network host Anne Thornton was fired from the network for copying recipes from other famous chefs.
The newspaper says Thornton, who hosted “Dessert First” on the food channel since October 2010, stole recipes from famous chefs Martha Stewart and the Barefoot Contessa. It is also alleged that she stole recipes from cookbooks.
It is alleged that Thornton stole Martha Stewart’s Coconut Pecan Frosting, Barefoot Contessa’s Luscious Lemon Squares and a recipe from the 2006 cookbook “The Essence of Chocolate.”
The newspaper quoted a source as saying that the network suspected Thorton of stealing the recipes during the second season of her dessert show so they went back and looked at some of her recipes from her first show and realized that they might have a plagiarism problem.
Thornton was in the middle of her 13-episode second season when the network pulled the plug.
I am sure she is not the first and only one to do something like this.
