Food Network host Marc Summers involved in nasty taxi accident

A large portion of Food Network host Marc Summers’ face is said to have been burned when a taxi he was traveling in got into a terrifying accident.

The 60-year-old host of Unwrapped had just finished taping an episode of his TV show in Philadelphia last weekend when he took a cab to get out of the pouring rain.

Torrential rain caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle and the taxi and Summers jerked forward slamming into the Plexiglas partition between the driver and him.

In an interview with People Magazine Summer said “everything on the left side [of my face] from my eye socket down was just wiped out….my eye socket got all swollen.  I’m having trouble seeing completely out of the left eye….there’s lot of titanium and screws in my face.”

Summers, who underwent four hours of surgery, is expected to make a full recovery.
