Former CNN anchor T.J Holmes says he was stopped for “being black” in Atlanta.
While driving to his Atlanta home earlier today, Holmes was pulled over by two officers in a marked police car.
Holmes, who tweeted the incident, said he asked the officers several times why he was being stopped and after stumbling on their words they said we wanted to “make sure you had insurance on the car.”
The journalist also took pictures of the officers while he was sitting in his parked car on the side of the road. He later tweeted the pictures with the captions:
“Yep, in sitting on the side of the road 1 mile from my house with 2 cop cars behind me.” “driving while black ain’t no joke!”
