A former NFL player died in a single car accident early yesterday morning, authorities say.
Former Georgia Tech star Nick Rogers was killed around 1:30 a.m. Monday after his vehicle swerved off a road in Fulton County Atlanta and struck a power pole.
Rogers, who wed his long time girlfriend, Kia Jackson-Rogers less than one month ago, was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the sixth round in 2002.
In 2003, Rogers appeared in 16 games, with five starts.
In 2004, he played for the Packers and Colts before ending his career in 2005 with the Dolphins.
After four years in the NFL, Rogers opened a barber shop and recently began remodeling homes with his father.
It is still unclear what caused the former athlete to veer off the road.
