Nashville, Tennessee officials said Sahel Kazemi shot Steve McNair in his right temple then fired three more shots at close range hitting him twice in the chest, and then shooting him in the left temple, while he was asleep on a sofa.
She then sat on the couch next to his body and shot herself in the right temple, falling into his lap.
It is believed that Kazemi thought her married boyfriend was seeing another woman after she saw another woman leaving his rented love nest a few days before the murder-suicide.

According to friends of Steve McNair’s wife, Mechelle McNair, Mechelle was “blindsided” by the affair her husband was having with Shael Kazemi.
Sources close to McNair said Mechelle Cartwright McNair did not know that her husband was renting a love nest 6 miles from the home he shared with her and their four children.
Kazemi’s aunt told a local reporter that her niece told her that Steve had asked her to marry him

Authorities in Nashville, Tennessee are hinting that Former NFL star quarterback Steve McNair was murdered by his new girlfriend Sachel Kazemi.
It is believed that twenty-year-old Kazemi shot the married father of four several times before killing herself with a single bullet to the head.
According to reports, a few months ago McNair, 36, met Kazemi at a Dave & Buster’s where she worked and the two started dating shortly thereafter.
A few days before the murder-suicide, Kazemi was stopped by Nashville police for driving under the influence.
The police affidavit said Kazemi had bloodshot eyes and the smell of alcohol on her breath but she refused a Breathalyzer test because according to the woman, “she was not drunk, she was high.”
(CNN) — Former NFL quarterback Steve McNair was killed in a shooting in Nashville, Tennessee, authorities said Saturday.

Steve McNair, 36, spent 13 seasons in the NFL, the majority with the Tennessee Titans.
Police said they found McNair and a woman shot to death in a Nashville residence after receiving a phone call about an injured person.
The woman has been tentatively identified, but her name is not being released, authorities said.
A law enforcement source close to the investigation said the woman is McNair’s girlfriend and that the residence is her condominium in downtown Nashville.
Witnesses said he was a frequent visitor there.
Authorities were questioning people who were near the home, but they said no one was in custody.
They could not provide details as to the circumstances of the shooting.
McNair’s brother, Fred, also confirmed the death but had no immediate details.
McNair, 36, spent 13 seasons in the NFL, the majority with the Tennessee Titans, before announcing his retirement in April 2008. He spent his last two seasons with Baltimore Ravens and he was the NFL’s co-MVP in 2003.
The owner of the Titans, Bud Adams, Jr., said in a statement that the organization was “saddened and shocked” to hear of McNair’s death.
“He was one of the finest players to play for our organization and one of the most beloved players by our fans,” Adams said.
“He played with unquestioned heart and leadership and led us to places that we had never reached, including our only Super Bowl.”
The Titans marked a Super Bowl loss to the St. Louis Rams in 2000.
McNair attended Alcorn State in Mississippi.
